Calma is an independent furniture brand from Empordà, whose designs draw inspiration from landscapes, local craftsmanship and the character of the local people. Calma entrusts the production of all their pieces to local producers, craftsmen who have the know-how and are familiar with tradition. These masters leave an imprint and their knowledge in each and every piece.
Calma believes in responsible design and creates original, unique and timeless collections. Calma also elaborates special collections that bring back to life iconic masterpieces from designers like André Ricard or Pete Sans.
Logo and symbol
The identity seeks to draw a connection with the concept of calma (calm), not only with the idea of resting, but also with a way of acting and living responsibly with oneself and the environment. The cricket as a symbol links the brand to the outdoors, the silence of a summer night surrounded by nature and the brand’s roots in the territory of Empordà.
Communication
To emphasise the narrative, we created a set of messages. In these, everything communicated gains added value by finishing out the message with the words con calma. In Spanish, this conveys the idea that everything is better when done calmly.

Calma’s designs are inspired by the Empordà area. We photographed the products in the contexts that inspired them to reinforce the link between the products, their origin and the environment.
Art direction
Pieces of furniture are photographed in the craft workshops where they are manufactured, putting the focus on the relationship between the designs and the values of craftsmanship and local production. These two values are especially representative of Calma’s personality.
