Transgressions

Visual Campaign, exhibition graphics and catalogue design of the new collection of contemporary ceramics of Museu del Disseny: Transgressions.

The image portrays the starting point of every ceramic artwork, the raw piece of clay when it starts being worked by the hands of the artist.
The campaign presents a secuence of images that depict the workings on a clay piece where the title of the exhibition has been stamped on. In this secuence, the clay piece moves and quickly transforms into a uniform mass.

Throughout the exhibition graphics and the catalogue we looked for a resource that wouldn’t be redundant to the visual campaign but that would link to it. Diverse creations add up to the permanent exhibition, from artists that work from a more material approach, to more technical or conceptual perspectives. In light of this variety and so as not to interfere with the exposed artworks, the graphics reflect the begining of the creation process common to all artworks: the material -the block of clay-, the hands of the creator and the imprint they both leave when being used.

The total of all pieces unites in a visual game of opposites that complement each other and in some way frame the content of the exhibition. The prelude and the trace of ceramics.
